190 visa – Western Australia state sponsorship

 

Summary of visa and state nomination requirements – mandatory for all primary visa applicants:

 

Full -time job offer in your nominated occupation

You must provide a contract employment contract for full-time employment for at least 12 months in Western Australia in the nominated (or closely related) occupation.

 

Closely related occupations are those sharing the first four digits of the ANZSCO occupation code. For example, the following are closing related occupations with the same first four digits 2211:

 

  • 221111 Accountant (General)
  • 221112 Management Accountant
  • 221113 Taxation Accountant

 

Age:

Primary applicant must be under 45 years of age at the time of invitation.

 

English requirement:

If your nominated occupation is under ANZSCO Major Occupation Group 1 (Managers) or Group 2 (Professionals) occupation, an English language level of Proficient English must be obtained. Otherwise, the primary applicant must have at least Competent English ability.

If you hold a passport from the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, the United States, Canada and New Zealand are considered to have met the minimum English language requirement and are exempt from undertaking an English proficiency test.

 

Skilled occupation assessment:
The applicant must nominate a skilled occupation befitting their skills and qualifications which is identified on the Western Australian Skilled Occupation List​ for state nomination (unless you are applying as a PhD graduate and you have access to a wider list of eligible occupations – see below information). Potential applicants must have a current skills assessment completed by one of the Australian Authorised Assessment bodies.

 

Work experience:

You must have at least one year of Australian work experience in the nominated (or closely related) occupation over the last 10 years, or at least three years of overseas work experience in the nominated (or closely related) occupation over the last 10 years.

 

SkillSelect Points Test 
The applicant must score a minimum of 65 points on the SkillSelect Points Test (190 visa state nomination automatically achieves 5 points).
